AIRPORTS
There are a wide range of UK regional airports to choose from, and four main airports in Spain. We strongly recommend you hire a car. Most of the airlines offer preferential rates with their car hire partners. We have always found the Spanish firm Centauro to be reliable. If you prefer, we can arrange transfers from the airport at extra cost. 2008 rates are €40 per way from Almeria and €80 per way from Murcia, payable locally. There is also a service called www.resorthoppa.com who run a door-to-door transfer service from Almeria airport to Vera Playa for €30 return. This is ideal if you don't want to hire a car locally. You can get by without one at our resort, but to explore the area fully we do recommend that you hire a car.
Flights can be very cheap if you are flexible about your travelling day and book in advance. We have no fixed 'turnaround' day for the apartments. For example, an Easyjet flight on the Gatwick/Almeria route can cost as little as £17.99 one way excluding taxes.
ALMERIA AIRPORT is a short 40-50 minute drive from the apartments along the E15 dual carriageway.

MURCIA AIRPORT (San Javier) is a transformed journey since the opening of a toll road from Cartegena right into Vera Playa. This costs E11,50, payable at Cartegena, but the journey is now possible in less than 1 hour. You can still use the old dual carriageway up round Murcia City and then the E15 into Vera, but this takes just over 2 hours.
